Tauri sends outgoing mail through a small SMTP client, mail, used by the self-service pages (password, domain and deletion links) and by the maintenance report rapport. All of them use the SMTP settings stored in @:/Elysee/config. There is no incoming mail server.

Without a working relay, no hosting customer receives a link. Test it after every installation: mail you@example.com test test.

1. Configuring SMTPConfigurer le SMTP
The relay settings are in the @:/Elysee/config table, section smtp. Set them with sql; the lines exist by default with example values:

Never display the password value on a shared screen or in a log: to check the settings, list the keys only. N'affichez jamais la valeur du mot de passe sur un écran partagé ou dans un journal : pour contrôler les réglages, ne listez que les clés.

A leading @ on the message argument reads the body from that file. The client retries up to 4 times, one second apart, before giving up.

3. Maintenance reportRapport de maintenance
rapport gathers the system state in @:/tmp/rapport.txt and mails it: uptime, CPU, memory and kernel heap trend, disks and file-system checks, network, response times, recent errors, PHP bytecode cache — with explicit alerts when something needs attention.
rapport rassemble l'état du système dans @:/tmp/rapport.txt et l'envoie : uptime, CPU, mémoire et tendance du tas noyau, disques et contrôles du système de fichiers, réseau, temps de réponse, erreurs récentes, cache de bytecode PHP — avec des alertes explicites quand quelque chose demande attention.

4. SecuritySécurité
- When the relay offers STARTTLS, the session switches to TLS 1.3 and the relay's certificate is validated (chain up to a trusted root, and host name). An invalid certificate stops the sending: better no mail than credentials handed to an impostor.Quand le relais propose STARTTLS, la session passe en TLS 1.3 et le certificat du relais est validé (chaîne jusqu'à une racine de confiance, et nom d'hôte). Un certificat invalide arrête l'envoi : mieux vaut pas de courriel que des identifiants livrés à un imposteur.
- STARTTLS remains opportunistic: if the relay does not announce it, the session — AUTH credentials included — goes in clear. Use a relay that requires STARTTLS, typically on port 587.STARTTLS reste opportuniste : si le relais ne l'annonce pas, la session — identifiants AUTH compris — part en clair. Utilisez un relais qui impose STARTTLS, en général sur le port 587.
